Shelter Dog Series l 2004
When we adopteed Shady, she had lived most of her 15 months at our local no-kill shelter. I was struck by how well she had been cared for and began to look deeper at the pleading eyes behind the fences. i gathered up my courage to shoot a series of shelter dogs. After many visits, I decided that I wanted to show only part of the dogs, as I began to feel that until they find their homes, they are not whole. The shadow of the chain link is the common thread in their lives and in these images.
